SUFFOLK ADULT LEARNERS’ AWARDS 2013

Moving stories and outstanding achievements of adult learners, tutors and volunteers in Suffolk were recognised at the Suffolk Adult Learners’ Awards, held at University Campus Suffolk on Thursday 23th May with the big winner of the night being Debut Brooks, an inspiring individual who has completed multiple courses and an apprenticeship whilst in employment.

Leap joined forces with the Suffolk Partnership for Informal Adult Learning (SPIAL) to organise the ceremony in celebration of National Adult Learners Week. BBC Radio Suffolk Breakfast presenter and University Campus Suffolk (UCS) Honorary Graduate, Mark Murphy, was the compère on the night and said of the evening; “What an event like this proves is that no matter what age, sex or background you come from, there’s nothing to stop you learning something new. It is a pleasure to be involved in an event that recognises the dedication and hard work that these individuals have put into teaching or learning new skills.”

Art In Mind was Runner-Up of Learning Project of the Year sponsored by eastern enterprise hub.
