Gallery – Landscape Painting

We have been experimenting with mark making with a view to developing these ideas into a landscape painting.  We have been based at the Museum of East Anglian Life which sits on a site of almost eighty acres of fields and water meadows.   A wonderfully inspiring setting to think about painting landscape.

A wonderful environment to explore.  I could have done many more quick and tiny sketches.  It will be good to continue next week on a larger scale with more detail and colour.

These next few images are from the sketchbooks we made in the first session.DSC00499 DSC00500 DSC00498 DSC00496

Over the next few weeks we frottaged, collaged, sat outside and sketched out ideas for paintings.  Here are the results:

I have never tried landscape painting or mark making.  Both of these I have done over the last six weeks.  I’ve found it interesting.
